Boston call-up for Wetherall

Former West Coast hockey player Anna Wetherall has been drafted into the Boston College field hockey team as an international university graduate for their 2011 season.
Greymouth born and raised, Wetherall had been in Boston for two weeks, the start of a four-month stint, when head coach Chris Clements called her up to the team.
Clements’ coaching experience includes heading the under-18 and under-16 New Zealand boys’ teams, as well as leading the field hockey programme at Christchurch Boys’ High School. He was also the national youth talent identifier for New Zealand Hockey.
Wetherall has made a number of representative teams, including the under-21 and senior Canterbury sides and New Zealand selection.
Wetherall is an ex-Kowhai women’s club member and West Coast representative player. She shifted to Canterbury to attend university several years ago.
