Sonny Bill Williams will fight for the New Zealand heavyweight belt next year.
The All Blacks midfielder announced details of his next boxing bout at a media conference in Hamilton.
The fight will be held at the Claudelands Arena, on Wednesday February 8.
Williams' one-year contract with the New Zealand Rugby Union, which he signed in the wake of the All Blacks Rugby World Cup win, allows him to take part in several professional boxing matches.
The 26-year-old has had four competitive fights, winning each one, two by unanimous decision and the others by technical knock out.
His opponent is yet to be named, with the bout taking place 17 days before his Chiefs franchise over their Super rugby campaign.
