ENTERPRISE Cars Swim Team’s Joshua Taylor-Martin and Jessica Blakeman provided the highlights of the Bay of Plenty junior championships in Rotorua.
Taylor-Martin’s nine gold medals featured nine personal best times and he was also top overall boy in the breaststroke.
The youngster’s performances follow on from his impressive form at the Hawke’s Bay-Poverty Bay champs when he broke the 12 years boys HBPB 100m freestyle record.
Blakeman won two gold medals in Rotorua and was top overall girl in the butterfly.
As well as HBPB clubs, there were swimmers from Wellington, Waikato, Auckland and Bay of Plenty for the outdoor meeting at which rain fell during all three sessions.
“This made the results all the more pleasing as the swimmers showed true grit and did a tremendous job considering the conditions,” said Enterprise head coach Gary Martin,
“We were very pleased with the 85 percent of best times swam overall by our swimmers. This was a great experience for our future champions and we will definitely be going back next year.
