Hokitika’s world champion axeman Adam Lowe took out the West Coast Sportsperson of the Year title, but was unable to be present on the night. Other winners were: Coach-Umpire-Referee of the Year, Phil Bone, for his work with the West Coast under-18 girls’ hockey team; Administrator of the Year, West Coast Rugby Football League president Peter Kerridge.
