Jamaican sprinter Steve Mullings has been found guilty of doping by a three-member disciplinary panel.

Mullings, who did not attend the hearing in Jamaica and could not be reached for comment, is now facing a lifetime ban from the track.

The Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission found him guilty of ingesting furosemide, a banned diuretic and masking agent, at the island's sprinting national trials in June.

After testing positive, he was dropped from the Jamaican squad heading to the World Championships in South Korea.

In 2004, he was banned from the sport for two years after failing a drug test during qualifications to compete at the Beijing Olympics. His urine tested positive for testosterone.
