Defending champion Geoff Ogilvy has sprung from nowhere to seize the clubhouse lead during the final round of the Australian Open at The Lakes.
Ogilvy, who flirted with the cut line on Friday, fired a cracking seven-under-par 65 to charge to nine under for the championship.
The former US Open winner produced six birdies, an eagle on the 528-metre 11th and just one bogey on No.10 to give himself an outside shot of going back-to-back.
Ogilvy trailed young gun Jason Day and 1998 champion Greg Chalmers by two strokes as the joint leaders made the turn on Sunday.
Playing in the last group alongside third-round leader John Senden, Day made a shaky start in his quest for a first tournament win on home soil.
The 24-year-old dropped shots on the first and third holes to briefly fall three behind Chalmers, who opened his round with consecutive birdies.
But the left-hander three-putted the par-3 ninth to relinquish his outright advantage.
Three-times runner-up Nick O'Hern was only one behind Day and Chalmers, while superstar Tiger Woods also put himself back in the mix with a superb front-nine 32 to be nine under.
Woods was one ahead of fellow American Bubba Watson and 2009 champion Adam Scott, who collected his fourth eagle of the week with a three on the par-5 14th hole.
Ryan Haller and American Nick Watney were level with Scott at eight under, while US pair Bubba Watson and Kyle Stanley were a further stroke behind.
Senden, though, crashed back to eight under with four bogeys on the outward nine.
