Millers 10th at world champs

GISBORNE father and son Deane and Rob Miller had to bow to the superiority of the Australians at the FIM Track Racing Sidecar 1000cc World Championships last weekend.
The Millers finished 10th after their five heats at the Murray Bridge track in South Australia and failed to make the eight-bike semifinals.
They managed a second and three third placings in their heats but their total of five points left them three adrift of the eighth and final qualifying spot.
All eight spots were taken by Australians, with Andrew Buchanan and Phillipa Burns (9th) the best of the five Kiwi combinations.
Aussies Darrin Treloar and Jesse Headland won the final.
