Former Australia paceman Jason Gillespie has joined Yorkshire as first-team coach in an attempt by the English county side to revive its fortunes.
After a 10-year international career including 71 tests, Gillespie says he will bring "a bit of fun and enjoyment'' to the club. Yorkshire was expected to be among the challengers for the County Championship title this year but was instead relegated to the second tier.
Director of cricket Martin Moxon says "even if we'd have won the championship, this probably would have happened anyway.''
Australia batsman Phil Jaques has meanwhile agreed a sign a two-year contract as the side's overseas player, with former Sri Lanka assistant Paul Farbrace taking charge of the second team.
