Jeremy Yates is warning Hayden Roulston the Tour of Southland isn't over yet.
The double Olympic medallist is back in the leader's yellow jersey after winning the notorious stage to Bluff Hill.
Yates is more than a minute behind Roulston but says there's still some good opportunities to attack.
He says he's looking forward to the Crown Range stage as the time gaps will be more than a minute between riders.
Yates says it's still an open race with strong winds and rain having returned to the Tour this year.
He says things can change in a single kilometre with rough weather conditions.
Stage three is only 48 kilometres and will take the peloton from Riverton to Tuatapere, while the 100 kilometre fourth stage will then finish in Te Anau.
Share the Road rider Jeremy Yates says the first of today's two stages can cause some havoc.
He says on paper it's easy, but if the cross breeze does it's job, some riders could see themselves in trouble.
The Crown Range stage is tomorrow after the two flat stages today.
Stage three gets underway at 10am.
