Cricket: Otago declaration sets up possible result

Otago's bowlers have set up an interesting finish to the rain-affected Plunket Shield match in Rangiora.

After losing time to bad weather yesterday, Otago declared 120 runs behind Canterbury's first innings total this morning.

The Volts then skittled the Canterbury line-up to bowl the hosts out for 61 at lunch.

Neil Wagner's been the chief destroyer - taking 5-33.

Otago will begin their pursuit of 181 for victory after the break.

Rain has prevented any play in Napier this morning between Central Districts and Wellington.

They're taking an early lunch with hope of resuming within the hour.

Central Districts is 267-2 in their second innings, trailing Wellington by 16 runs.
