The US team remains confident heading into the third day of the Presidents Cup, despite serious inroads made by the Internationals.
After being handed a 4-2 whipping on the opening day, the Internationals fought back as the six four-ball matches were split on day two.
The US retained a 7-5 overall lead and captain Fred Couples said despite being buffeted by wind on the tough layout, his side still gathered vital information.
"The golf course did not lend itself to any birdies so everyone thinks they must not be swinging well," Couples said.
"But all of these guys played great.
"The golf course is hard and tomorrow they are all going to go out there and play - they have not lost their games because they just played in a 25-mile-an-hour wind.
"We are all learning this golf course and today we learnt that you can't stop a ball on the green."
International team captain Greg Norman said his side now has its momentum back after matching the US in the four-ball clashes.
Victorian Aaron Baddeley combined with Jason Day to defeat Tiger Woods and Dustin Johnson in a morale-sapping result for the US and a key win for the opposition.
Woods is now the only player on the US team without a point beside his name.
"We've got a huge amount of confidence in the room right now. Yesterday took it out of us - today we got it back again and with a little more energy and gusto in us this evening."
The third day will feature five foursomes matches and five four-ball matches in a changed format.
Each team rested two players in the morning - the Australians dropped YE Yang and KT Kim while the US decided against picking Steve Stricker and Nick Watney.
The four will play in the afternoon session.
