Glenalvon and Awesome Prospect, scratched at Addington on the direction of stewards last Friday, have been transferred from the stable of Mark Smolenski to Mark Jones.
Both horses are owned by Pat Kubala, of Gore, operating as Charlton Park Enterprises Ltd.
"Both horses are ready to race and I did not want to risk something preventing them doing that. Mark has done a good job with them, but obviously he has done something to upset officialdom," Kubala said.
Glenalvon (three wins), Awesome Prospect (two) and Tip Your Hat Loui (two) were ordered to be scratched after stewards visited the Smolenski stable at Weedons on Friday.
"We have been visiting stables at random and the stewards had cause for concern," Cameron George, the chief stipendiary steward, said.
The stewards ordered that the three horses be taken to Addington to be swabbed. The results of the swabs are expected late this week.
Awesome Prospect and Glenalvon are engaged at Ashburton on Monday.
Glenalvon joined the Smolenski stable in May and won two starts later at Richmond Park.
He finished last at Methven on October 9 at his most recent start.
Awesome Prospect ran third at Methven.
Peter Gillespie was elected president of the Forbury Park Trotting Club at the annual meeting last night.
He succeeded Alan Clyma, who stepped down after three years.
Colin Keen had also been nominated for president.
Gillespie, a Mosgiel veterinarian, has been a member of the committee for two years. He was formerly on the committee of the Otago Racing Club, but resigned to concentrate on the Forbury Park club.
He was recently appointed to the board of management of the Forbury Park club.
He has convened a project for the beautification of Forbury Park raceway. The first stage has been completed with the planting of 50 Norwegian maple trees along the Victoria Rd frontage and seven along the Plunket St frontage.
The second stage is a lawn replacing a sealed embankment to the southwest of the old grandstand. Oak trees will be planted there and named to honour 10 champion horses who have raced at Forbury Park.
The third stage will be at the corner of Victoria Rd and Plunket St.
"We want to get a sports club atmosphere back for members, an attractive venue and a warm place inside which gives them something for their membership," Mr Gillespie said.
"We see this as leading to more sponsors."
Stephen Cairns, the chairman of the board of management, confirmed that a contract had been let for the construction of a new administration building at a cost of $440,000. He said a grant of $50,000 had been received from the racing safety fund and an application had been made to Harness Racing New Zealand for a low-interest loan.
"This will leave the club with about $300,000 in investments," he said.
"The other developments and new management of the tavern will see the club repositioned in the coming year."
