New Zealand-born playmaker Rangi Chase has switched his allegiance to England and has been included in Steve McNamara's train-on squad for the Four Nations.

The former St George-Illawarra Dragons player qualifies for England through residency after spending the last three years with Castleford in the UK Super League.

Chase says it gives him the chance of playing at the highest level.

He says if he gets the chance to play for England he'll represent the shirt with as much pride as his team-mates.

Chase says he's genuine about his decision to play for England, but is aware he's going to have to win over his teammates.

He says once he found out he qualified for England through residency he called McNamara to make himself available.

Chase joins Australians Jack Reed and Chris Heighington in England's Four Nations squad.
