Kseniia Afanaseva of Russia won the gold medal on floor exercise Sunday at the world gymnastics championships.
Afanaseva, who was added to the floor final midway through the meet as a replacement for teammate Viktoria Komova, scored a 15.133. That put her in front of Sui Lu of China and Aly Raisman of the United States. It was the second medal of the day for Sui, who had won the gold on balance beam about an hour earlier.
Earlier Sunday, Danell Leyva won the parallel bars title, the first gold medal by a US man since Paul Hamm won the all-around and floor exercise in 2003. Also, Yang Hak-seon of South Korea won the men's vault title with the hardest vault ever attempted.
