“This was her first international competition and to make finals in tramp and double mini was a great effort,” Callahan said.
“Olivia was the youngest in her 11-and-12-year age-group and for her to make the top six from 36 competitors in each event confirms my belief that she will go all the way and compete at the world champs.
“Unfortunately it won’t be next year. With the Olympics on in London, the next world champs are in 2013.”
Callahan said that in Adelaide “final nerves and missing home” probably got to the Mangapapa Primary School student.
“She said by the end of the nationals she was feeling a little bit homesick but now that she has broken through that barrier she will be all the better for it.
“Her next big champs are the Indo-Pacifics in Sydney next year.
“She will be up against a lot more competitors, with America, China, Japan and other countries competing.”
Although the competitive trampolining season is over, Corrin will continue to train with Callahan while training with the Enterprise Swim Team and Midway Surf Life Saving Club.
“Swimming and surf lifesaving are good sports for Olivia and will help her with her fitness.”
